Stephen Adler is an American journalist, lawyer, author, and print editor. ==Career== He began his career as a reporter for ''Tampa Times'' and ''Tallahassee Democrat.'' He joined ''The American Lawyer'' in 1983. He left TAL in 1988 for ''The Wall Street Journal'' as legal editor. He was promoted to assistant managing editor in 1998. Another promotion was to deputy managing editor in 2000. He is the current editor-in-chief of Reuters News. He replaced David Schlesinger who is now the chairman of Thomson Reuters China. Adler was editor-in-chief of ''BusinessWeek'' from 2004-2010 before joining Thomson Reuters in 2010 as senior vice president and editorial director.
